(1)Program Introduction

This program (department) was established independently in the Category I Program in granting Ph.D. degrees in Applied Economics in the University. Investment is a program based on Economics and Management, which studies the principles of capital operation, investment decision-making, asset evaluation and investment management in the field of investment and financing. It is closely related with Industrial Economics, Finance, Fiscal Policy, and National Economic Management, etc. This program is of great significance to the sustained, stable and coordinated development of the national economy, macroeconomic regulation and control, and decision-making and management in terms of investment and finance for corporations. In recent years, the development and research direction of the field of Investment in China has always been serving as a link between past and future. Closely following the latest theoretical and practical changes in the field of investment and finance both at home and abroad, we have made remarkable progress, in terms of basic investment theories and methods, institutional models, policy design, as well as the relationship, operation modeling, policy design, early warning systems and methodology based on macroscopic variables.

(2)Research Directions

The research directions of the program currently include investment and financing theory and practice, asset evaluation and investment management, investment banking theory and practice, private equity investment, investment decision theory and method.

(3)Objectives

This program is aiming at cultivating top-tier decision-making and management talents with comprehensive skills, a rigorous and realistic way of thinking, and civility, who are adhere to the Four Cardinal Principles, reform and opening up. It is also necessary to combine physical and financial investment, micro and macro economics, international perspective and expertise in Finance, Management, Law, Science, and Engineering.

(4)Duration and Process

This is a 2-year program. Students would be granted a Master's Degree in Economics upon graduation.
