The course "Professional Literature Reading and Writing" primarily aims to help students establish fundamental research concepts and master basic reading and writing skills. Starting with academic ethics, students will learn about the definition of plagiarism and the various harms of academic misconduct. They will become familiar with mainstream journal rankings and various indexing systems, developing a basic ability to assess the quality of a journal. Students will also learn how to comprehensively evaluate a researcher. Additionally, they will acquire skills for retrieving relevant reference literature and understand the different roles of extensive and intensive reading in research. The course will cover the standard format of research papers, the establishment of logical frameworks, and common writing techniques. Through an introduction to the submission processes of well-known journals, students will learn how to submit manuscripts and respond to reviewer comments. Furthermore, if time permits, the course will also delve into how to engage in academic collaboration.
