讲座题目:《Incentivising community self-consumption in energy markets: Stable coalition formation using cooperative game theory

讲座摘要:This lecture examines coalition stability among prosumers and consumers in a local energy community. Based on cooperative game theory, it will demonstrate how coalitions can minimise collective disutility by sharing distributed energy resources (DERs) and optimising battery energy storage system (BESS) operation schedules. For disutility allocation among coalition members, the center-of-gravity of imputation set value (CIS-value) is applied, ensuring equitability and computational feasibility. The analysis focuses on stability of coalition structures, where all possible players’ deviations are considered. A blocking mechanism is implemented, where deviations can be blocked by a coalition if one member is made worse off by the deviation. A case study involving ten players is presented, showing that stable coalitions lead to more effective outcomes in terms of cost, emissions, and demand peak reduction. These findings demonstrate that cooperative game theory with coalition stability can enhance community self-consumption (CSC) within local energy communities.

嘉宾简介

Artem Sedakov is currently a professor at Saint Petersburg State University in the Department of Mathematical Game Theory and Statistical Decisions. He defended his Candidate of Sciences (PhD) thesis in mathematics in 2009 and his Doctor of Sciences (DSc) thesis in the same field in 2020. His research focuses on operations research and game theory, with applications in social networks and environmental economics, and has been recognized through publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Energy, Computational Economics, Dynamic Games and Applications, European Journal of Operational Research, and Journal of Computational Social Science. His contributions to the field were honored with the prestigious 2016 CAS-PIFI Fellowship.
