讲座摘要：

Based on a typical example, this talk demonstrates the power of using analytical models for management science and engineering problems in the era of AI. We also show how analytical modeling approach can be supplemented by simulation and machine-learning approach.

嘉宾简介：

Zhe George Zhang isa professor of Management Science atWestern Washington University and a professor of Operations Management at Simon Fraser University. He is also a long-termvisiting professor of Sauder School of Business at the University of BritishColumbia. He has published more than 180 papers in prestigious journals such asManagement Science, Operations Research, M&SOM,POM, IIE Transactions, IEEE Transactions, etc. He has published two books in the area of OR/MS, which have been widely cited in the world. He is one of the Editors-in-Chief for“Journal of the Operational Research Society”, the first Operational Research journal in the world, and one of the founding Editors-in-Chief for the journal“Queueing Models and Service Management”and is on the editorial board of several international journals in Operations Research and Management Science, includingProduction and Operations Management(Senior Editor).
